Slashdot with tags
Slashdot is experimenting with tags:
Good thing. What’s more is that they haven’t yet boxed themselves into ‘just use tags somehow’. They’re hoping to incorporate more uses as the system evolves.
The javascript (that changes the [+] to [-] and lets you enter new tags by making the text box visible) didn’t seem to do anything in Firefox 1.5 when I clicked on it. Seems unlikely that /. folks didn’t test it with Firefox before releasing it even as an experiment.

Hi, I’m one of the Slashdot programmers who’s coding this. We tested extensively in Firefox 1.5 on Mac, Windows and Linux. I’m really puzzled that it didn’t seem to be working for you. If you don’t mind, can you email me so we can try to figure it out?
I tried it again today, and it works fine with Firefox 1.5.0.1/Windows. Same machines (two of them), same version of Firefox, had no effect of clicking on [+] on 18th Feb (the entry’s date).
Something got fixed as a part of other changes - is my guess.
